Adjust the Head. Adjust the Weights. Totally Optimize You.
Taylor Made Flight Control Technology (FCT)
Change the face angle, lie angle and loft to affect side-to-side flight by up to 40 yards – 8 different club head positions.
How to adjust the R9 - The R9 has a small metallic sleeve positioned over the tip of the shaft. The shaft is secured to the club head with a specially made bolt in the bottom of the club head. The FCT bolt is designed to be retained in the well to eliminate the chance of losing it. At the bottom of the sleeve is a ring of small, gear like teeth, which tightly mesh with a second ring of matching teeth within the hosel. You can change the club head's characteristics (face angle, loft, lie) by loosening the FCT bolt, removing the shaft from the head, rotating the sleeve and shaft into a specified position, then locking them into that position within the head with the FCT bolt.
Movable Weight Technology (MWT)
The R9 includes one 16-gram & two 1-gram changeable weights. This allows you to change the clubs center of gravity location to affect side-to-side flight by up to 35 yards. Put the heavy weight in the heel port to promote a draw, in the toe port to promote a fade, and in the middle port to promote a straight flight
FCT + MWT
Total adjustability for maximum flight control; up to 75 yards of side-to-side adjustability. Various multiple settings are made possible by combining FCT with MWT: Eight club head positions made possible by FCT multiplied by three MWT configurations: 8 x 3 = 24. 24 drivers in 1 club.

The 65-gram Fujikura Motore graphite shaft is engineered with a new, advanced tip construction that promotes faster ball speed. Called High Inertia Tip (H.I.T.) technology, it's characterized by an optimally designed tip architecture that promotes added kick through the impact zone to promote increased ball speed and distance.

Just got it, thanks for the extra gift.
I started using this club 3 weeks ago and I love it. Off the face it feels really smooth and you know when you make good impact. Coming from sasquatch fairway woods to these is easy. I bought it as a demo club and the price was less than a used TaylorMade R9 Driver club. DJ
I swung the driver last week, nice club. thanks for the good deal. william

I was seeking a driver to replace my R7 425. First I bought the FT-IQ, overpriced joke. Then I 90/90 for a Dymo STR-8 which I hit just as bad as the Callaway. Both clubs I hit shorter and with a slice. Then I purchased the R9 and after two changes of the shaft setting I now have a club I am hitting straight and 20 yards farther. My R7 was 11.5 R. The FT-IQ was 11 degree with a light shaft. The Dymo was 10.5 R and I used several different shaft positions.

This driver is the real deal. I was skeptical and demo'd it a number of times on the course before making the leap. A 4 handicap with a 105mph swing speed and I've left the club in N position. I'm a pretty straight hitter that gets 265 yards of carry normally. The club, 1st the shaft is stiffer then normal. You should certainly look at all shaft options when testing. I ended with the stiff and love it. 2nd, club was longer then I expected. I wasn't counting or even looking for a yardage gain so I'm pleasantly surprised with the 5 to 10 extra yards I'm picking up. 3rd, it looks, sounds and feels like a driver should. All business. 4th, how cool is it you can change the lie and loft? I don't really need to adjust the left or right ball flight (although I likely will at some point this season). But the simple fact I can add or subtract loft to take advantage of playing conditions is great. We're getting a bunch of rain this week so I'll add some loft to increase the carry for Saturday. That doesn't even seem fair!
